Review: Tough Mudder Las Vegas

p1100461 Tough Mudder. For those who aren’t aware, the Tough Mudder series of events are about teamwork, tough obstacles, running, getting wet, and generally doing things that scare you to death.

There is a reason they call it a Tough Mudder. In fact, they even make fun of Warrior Dash, taunting the entrants with a sign near the beginning saying, “If this was Warrior Dash, you’d be done by now.”

Every year I’ve done a different obstacle course. My first year was Warrior Dash, last year was a Spartan Race, and this year… Tough Mudder Las Vegas.

Spartan Malibu: Mud and Blood

I have a problem with cold water. Almost drowning and suffering hypothermia can do that to you.

But they say a man should face his fears, and I find the best way for me to do that is to put it under race conditions. That way, I have a strong goal to keep me focused and push through.

The Spartan Sprint definitely did that. The website says that the average finish time is around 30 minutes, but I’m here to tell you this: They lie. It’s not 30 minutes. Oh sure, it’s 3 miles. Oh sure, it’s some running. And, sure, I could run 3 miles in 30 minutes except for one minor thing.
