Race Recap: 2013 Vancouver Sun Run 10K

img_34181I’m an American in Canada and in Canada’s largest race. Canada has a reputation for being some of the nicest people around, and I have to admit – during this 10K I heard more “Excuse me,” and “Sorry” comments than I think I have ever heard during any race.

When you run a large race (over 48,000 people participated), things are going to get crowded. Normally, there are some words of frustration expressed. But in Vancouver, those words are rare and the race unique.

Famous in Rome?

There is a small… very small… chance we’re in this movie in the background. During the filming of this movie, we ran next to one of the runners for a good portion of the Rome Marathon. Sometimes, we were in front, sometimes we were behind… Either way, a chance to be on film is a chance I suppose. Race Review: 2012 Fall US Half Marathon Disappoints

race2255 Earlier this spring I ran the US Half Marathon in San Francisco, CA. When I told My Girl that I ran over the Golden Gate Bridge, she was so jealous she insisted we sign up for the fall version of the race.

US Half Marathon is now owned by Competitor Group, and although it doesn’t change it’s name to Rock n Roll San Francisco until next year, the mere presence of Competitor Group  is not a good influence on this race.

But had anything changed from the April 2012 race?
