My virtual position
My virtual run/bike across America continues as I’ve finally broken the 3,000 mile barrier. This is taking far longer than I ever expected it would take and just goes to show just how huge our country really is. That said, I did join a “Route 66″ group on Google+ that is planning to ride as much of the old route 66 from California to Santa Fe as they can. It will definitely be epic!
In any case, I’m now in Montana about to enter the great state of Idaho. How much longer will it take for me to finish the last 1,000 miles? I’m hoping by the end of this year. I originally hoped to finish long ago, but life sometimes gets in the way of your plans. The key, however, is to not give up and keep marching forward… even if it’s slowly!
My distance so far!
The breakdown of running versus bicycling is somewhat amusing to me. My bicycle miles are going up rapidly now that I am training for an Ironman and not focusing on ultramarathons.
