Update: My Virtual Run/Bike Across America

It’s been awhile since I updated my position on my run bike across America. A few changes have occurred since I started, however. On Dailymile, I noticed everyone puts in their “virtual” miles while on a trainer. I don’t like that, but it seems to be the common way of doing things. So, I started doing it because I set a new goal of swim/bike/running at least 100miles a week, and somedays I just can’t get outside. So, I started putting in those “virtual” miles into trainingpeaks.com, and now they’re included here, too. This whole thing is a “virtual” trip so I suppose I can justify doing it. “This” month stats are up to today, my forced rest day because of my back being difficult.

Total Distances This Month Total Cumulative Distances to Date
cycling: 114.9 mi
cycling: 665.4 mi
running: 123.1 mi
running: 985.4 mi
walk/running: 0.0 mi
walk/running: 236.5 mi
total: 238.0 mi
total: 1887.3 mi
1887.3 mi - “21.74 mi to Rush Center, KS”, Pawnee County
“Section: 8 Map Name: Pawnee River, 88″

I’m not even half way, even though it looks like it on the map. Total distance is 4,096 miles. I do think it’s funny that I have more run run/walk miles than bicycling. That’s due to Comrades, and I’m sure after June of this year the mileages will balance/favor cycling much more.
